After an emotional week in which he was traded to New Orleans, and then ordered back to the team that sent him packing by the NBA brass, Lamar Odom needs some distance from the Los Angeles Lakers. The basketball player and reality star skipped practice on Friday in order to think about his future in the league.
"To me, I would think it's better to stay away," Odom told The Los Angeles Times on Friday afternoon. "You know, the energy and all." (He had said earlier he was "shocked" by the trade and then "weirded out" by the nixed deal.)
He added that he wasn't sure when he'd return to practice. "I don't want to offend the sport and the professionalism. Right now, I'll be a fan of the game from the distance. But as of right now, I just don't know."
Though he feels betrayed by his team, Odom can count on his wife to stand by him no matter where he lands. "I would go anywhere with my hubby!" Khloe Kardashian Odom tweeted. "I ride or die for my Lam!... I can survive anywhere... People are acting cray! LOL New Orleans is a great place. As long as I'm with Lam I'm good."
If only the NBA felt the same way.
