Hip Hop Awards 2021 Cyphers: Who Had The Hottest Round?
The 2021 BET HipHop Awards was lit and a true celebration of all things hip hop including dazzling red-carpet attire, show-stopping performances and mesmerizing cyphers.
This year’s cyphers were jammed-packed with DJ HED helming the ones and twos, there’s a “Lyricism Cypher”, featuring Tierra Whack, Smino and D Smoke, a “Digital Cypher” comprised of Kidd Ken, Lakeyah and Toosii Symba and a “Hot Now Cypher” with Erica Banks, Fivio Foreign, Sleepy Hallow and Rico Nasty.
With their verses officially in the books, here’s a look at all of the fire that was spit.
Lyricism Cypher
Rapping over Khaled, Lil Baby and Lil Durk's smash hit "Every Chance I Get" for the Lyricism was rapper's Grip, D Smoke, Smino, Tierra Whack.
Everyone brought their a-game too, especailly Inglewood rapper, D Smoke, who among having switching it up in an entirely different language, dropped this gem:
"Welcome to Jackson family, Im one but for sure aint Tito."
Hot Now Cypher
Rico Nasty, Sleepy Hallow, Erica Banks, Fivio Foreign all made up the "Hot Now" cypher" at the Hip Hop Awards.
Again, rapping over "Chance That I Get," all four in this round came with the intricate weave of words and off-beat flows. But it was Fivo's round that we’re going to remember for, mid verse, giving a moment of silence to the late great Pop Smoke.
Digital Cypher
Made up of Toosii, Lakeyah, Kidd Kenn, and Symba, the “Digital Cypher” was made up some of the hottest new rappers on the internet today.
While they all came with the fire, it was Kidd Kenn who stole the show with his eye-popping lyrics and fast flow. Peep a few of the lyrics below:
