5 Of Our Favorite Hip Hop Couples
Love is fleeting. One minute you’ll see a couple boo’d up, then bitter and estranged in the next. That’s what makes it so comfortable, despite how cheesy, to indulge in the flames that manage to stay lit.
Another dope thing about hip hop couples are their red carpet moments.
Whether it’s Megan Thee Stallion serving leg alongside boyfriend Pardison Fontaine at the BET Awards 2019 or Lil Scrappy and Bambi blissfully in love at the BET Hip Hop Awards 2013.
With the BET Hip Hop Awards 2021 underway, here are some of our favorite couples we hope to see on this year’s carpet.
Lil Durk and India Royale are madly in love.
Between publicly displaying his feelings or showering her with expensive gifts, the Chicago rapper leaves no doubt that she’s got his love on lock.
He’s even penned a couple of bars her, including "India," in which he openly says, “I can't lie, I can't tell my guys/ That I'm in love and I feel so shy/ And we both turnt up we from the Chi/ But I don't ask about her other guy/ I just wanna eat you alive.”
The two started dating in 2017 before proposing in September of 2018 and giving birth to their daughter, Willow Banks, a month later.
G Herbo and Taina Williams
Chicago rapper G Herbo and Taina Williams’ relationship is another hip-hop flame that’s been burning strong.
Born Herbert Randall Wright III, the 25-year-old rapper got together with Taina after she slid in his DM’s. Only, he didn’t see it for months. “I knew it was over it at that point,” the Humble Beast rapper revealed in an interview.
Stepdaughter to the rapper Fabolous (the Brooklyn native helped raise her with Emily B, Taina Williams), the 22-year-old influencer eventually got a response, leading to them making it official in January of 2019.
Now engaged, they’ve been two peas in a pod since. Just this past May 27, Taina gave birth to their first child, Essex William Wright.
Mustard and Chanel Dijon
It’s easy to root for superstar producer DJ Mustard (actual name Dijon Isaiah McFarlane) and his wife, Chanel.
The “Post To Be” producer proposed back in 2018 with a half a million dollar ring after dating for eight years and meeting as teenagers. The thirty-one-year-old later tied the knot with Chanel, who is also mother to his three children, in October of 2020.
More so than their tenure, however, Mustard’s weight-loss journey sets them apart. The Cali native losing 100 pounds with his wife by his side is beautiful, even if it was, he admits, so that he could fit in designer clothes.

Megan Thee Stallion & Pardi
After everything Houston rapper Megan Thee Stallion has been through, how can’t you root for her blissful union with songwriter and producer Pardi Fontaine?
The “Big Ole Freak” rapper confirmed the relationship during an Instagram Live this past February, followed by their red carpet debut as a couple at the iHeartRadio Music Awards on May 27.
The Grammy award winner and the 31-year-old Newburgh, New York, native have been inseparable since, posting fun with water balloons and slaying red carpets — just peep how the lovebirds at the BET Awards 2021.
Let’s see if they run it back at the upcoming BET Hip Hop Awards 2021.
Cardi B and Offset
Cardi B and her husband Offset’s relationship has been on public display even before they tied the knot in September 2017. We’ve since witnessed ups, downs, and tons of outside opinions in between.
But that’s probably what makes them so darn likable — they’re real.
Cardi B revealed that she was expecting her second child with her husband Offset during an epic performance at the BET Awards 2021. The “WAP” and 29-year-old Migos rapper had their first child together, daughter Kulture, in July 2018. The family recently celebrated Kulture's third birthday with a princess-themed event.
