Lil Yachty Addresses Recent Arrest For Reckless Driving And Speeding
Following multiple reports that Lil Yachty was recently arrested for speeding, he has addressed the incident.
On Monday, CNN reported that the 23-year-old was taken into police custody on Sept. 21 after he was clocked driving more than 150 MPH. Yachty was reportedly in his white Ferrari when a Georgia State Patrol officer pulled him over for speeding. An officer observed the car weaving in and out of traffic on Interstate 75 near downtown Atlanta and followed the vehicle. According to CNN, the rapper was taken to Atlanta City Jail where he was charged with reckless driving and speeding.
Shortly after the news circulated online, the “Oprah’s Bank Account” rapper took to social media to clarify that he was no longer in jail following the arrest.
“I’m not in jail,” he captioned a video on Instagram. In the video, Yachty is seated in the driver’s seat of a car with multiple wads of $20 bills in his lap. He then stacks them on his shoulder up to his ear before he lets out a shout.
Yachty later addressed the recent incident in his latest video published onTik Tok.
“Yeah. It happened. Not today. This was like two weeks ago or like a week ago,” he said. “God forbid the mugshot comes out. Hopefully, it doesn’t. Slow down kids.”
This comes after the Quality Control artist crashed a red Ferrari in June after he hydroplaned near the same area in June. Yachty lost control of his car and spun out across seven lanes before crashing into a concrete barrier wall on the highway’s shoulder. Although the car was totaled, he, fortunately, walked away from the incident unscathed.- advertisement
