‘Jesus Is King’ Is Here: The Album Was Apparently Turned In At Four In The Morning
The day for Kanye West’s highly anticipated Jesus Is King album is finally here — or so we thought.
‘Ye was set to release his ninth studio album, Jesus Is King, on Friday (Oct. 25), but when the clock struck midnight, fans found themselves still twiddling their thumbs. An hour or so after the slated release time, he updated his fans on Twitter, informing them that he was making some last-minute tweaks on three tracks: “Everything We Need,” “Follow God” and “Water.” Producer and songwriter Consequence followed up with another update on letting us know that he was approved to oversee the final mixing and mastering, and that the LP would drop around 12 p.m. Jesus Is King is out now in according to the timeline that Consequence provided eight hours after its 4 a.m. lengthy ingest.
West also made a surprise guest appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! after mysteriously popping up in New York on Thursday (Oct. 24). “Do you feel born again, Kanye? Would you consider yourself to be a Christian music artist now?” Kimmel asked. “I’m just a Christian everything,” the newly faith-based rapper responded. The Jesus Is King artist sarcastically said the album would be dropping at 12 a.m.
However, Kimmel announced that a special performance would happen by the entertainer Friday evening back at the Kimmel studio. He also spoke to investing money as a billionaire after he pointed out an audience member who just won $298 million from the NY lottery. “When I first got money, I didn’t have a CFO and people [to] really show me how. I feel especially with Blacks, we need to show each other information of what to do with our money, how to design, how to bring the families together,” he said.
In usual Kanye fashion, he has his fans on their toes. His choir members — dressed in black tops and royal blue pants — were spotted at the Oculus/World Trade Center hub in NYC last night, in addition to a full production crew building a set.
