R. Kelly Is Reportedly Doing This For ‘Therapy’ Amid His Sexual Abuse Charges
Following his second release from jail in less than a month and the CBS interview calamity with Gayle King, TMZ reports that R. Kelly is finally taking some measures to keep himself grounded amid his turbulent 2019.
Lifetime’s Surviving R. Kelly docu-series burst open the floodgates on the legal storm pouring down on Kelly. Afterward, a series of police investigations—including on his Chicago studio and residences—would follow. This preceded more investigations by much larger law authorities, such as a criminal investigation in Georgia. Meanwhile, more victims of his alleged sexual crimes continued to step forth as well, accusing the 52-year-old and his team of crimes such as drugging and raping them as teenagers. Ten criminal counts of aggravated sexual abuse and two arrests later and Kelly is attempting to “straighten all this stuff out.”
And according to TMZ, Kelly has returned to his R&B element to do so while trying desperately to hold on to whatever’s left of his sanity.
After sources revealed to TMZ that he’s turned his focus to music producing…
... the site adds that his music “might be the only thing standing between him and a full mental breakdown.” He reportedly is using his songwriting as a “form of therapy” and possibly even a distraction from the legal boulders tumbling all around him. TMZ’s sources added that it’s all weighing down on him, and there’s a very real chance that he could suffer a mental breakdown sooner than later unless Kelly has his music to hold him together.
The sources also revealed where he’s conducting his reported therapeutic music practices…
... and it’s right in his Trump Tower apartment, considering that a judge restricted access to his Chi-Town studio, forcing him to find a new place to record. The site adds that though he doesn’t plan to release any of this music—not that he’d be able to with a distributor anyway amid another eviction from his Sony/RCA label home—Kelly’s been keeping himself busy with it in the meantime.
