R. Kelly's CBS Interview Got Turned Into A 'Trapped In The Closet' Episode, And Twitter Is Screaming

The internet stands undefeated yet again.

R. Kelly’s off-the-rails interview with Gayle King on CBS This Morning is already going down in television history as one of the wildest, most outrageous conversations and controversies of national news to ever hit the small screen.

It’s going down in Black Twtiter history just the same as Kelly’s most explosive moments, and quotes from the interview are swarming the internet. Kelly, who is currently released on bond from 10 counts of aggravated sexual abuse, flew off the deep end upon King’s inquiries about the sex cult allegations, legal history with child sexual abuse charges and other unanswered, unaddressed controversies of his past. Kelly’s temperamental flare-up was tearful and enraging for him, but hilarious for the internet, who discovered stark comparisons in his emotional episode and that of another episodic series in Kelly’s legacy: his early 2000s R&B-opera series, Trapped in the Closet.

Taking the classic music from the 33-chapter-long series, one video-savvy tweeter dropped the Trapped in the Closet music over Kelly’s CBS interview footage and even auto-tuned his statements from it. After the “Trapped in the CBS Closet” video made viral rounds on the internet, the internet is hilariously falling off the edge of the Twitterverse:
