Jill Scott Has Words For Trey Songz After He Made This Song Inspired By Her NSFW Viral Video
While the rest of the internet was dripping drool and wagging fingers at Jill Scott’s lusty viral performance video seen ‘round the world, R&B singer Trey Songz was somewhere becoming inspired by it all.
Thus, the Virginia-bred R&B heartthrob unlocked his vault and unleashed a track from said inspiration fittingly titled, “Jill (Sumn Real).” Invigorating the surprise SoundCloud drop with a sample of the neo-soul singer’s 2000 record, “He Loves Me (Lyzel in E Flat),” Trigga Trey crooned romanticism (instead of hyper-sexualization) over his version of the record. He still kept things steamy with its cover art though: a video still from Jill’s Twitter-crashing, oral sex simulative clip showing her tongue spilling from her mouth. The nearly five-minute track already got its stamp of approval from Trey’s Angels. And after Jilly from Philly herself got an earful of it, she’s got a message for everyone who could learn a thing or two from Trey’s handling of the controversy.
Listen to “Jill (Sumn Real),” fans’ thumbs-up for the record, and Jill’s personalized response for Mr. Steal Yo Girl below.
