In November 2016, after his wife, Kim Kardashian-West, was robbed and held at gunpoint in Paris, Ye was hospitalized and placed on a psychiatric hold. In May, the "Heartless" emcee claimed that "slavery was a choice," and that next month while promoting his album, ye, he answered the questions fans already assumed regarding his bipolar diagnosis.

However, Kanye has seemed to calm down from his previously infamous eruptions. He apologized to both Drake and the Black community and now might be trying to swoon fans back into his good graces when he announced to the city of Chicago that he was moving back home.
