Sammy Sosa raised a lot of eyebrows when a photo of him sporting an unbelievably whiter complexion went viral on social media. It’s no secret the former baseball star has been bleaching his skin for years now, but even then his new face was a complete shock to most. However, T.I. isn’t confused. The rapper has a theory about why Sosa altered his skin.

TMZ caught up with the ATL rapper outside of an airport, where reporters asked him about the recent viral photo. T.I. clearly didn’t have too much patience to deal with the foolishness of  Sammy’s transformation, but he suggested it was all due to “self-hate.” 

Sosa has previously admitted that he uses a European cream to soften his skin, but as a side effect, it also lightens it. “It’s a bleaching cream that I apply before going to bed and whitens my skin some,” Sosa, 49, told Univision in 2009. “It’s a cream that I have, that I use to soften [my skin], but has bleached me some. I’m not a racist, I live my life happily.”
