An R-Rated Murder Inc. TV Series May Be Under Way
Would you be down for a Murder Inc. biographical series?
According to theJasmineBRAND.com, Irv Gotti, the co-founder of the Murder Inc. record label, confirmed that a TV series about the group is currently in the works.
He specified that he did not want to go the biopic route as it didn't seem like enough time would be allotted to cover the label's extensive journey.
"I did not want to do a biopic," he said. "I needed longer. So we're doing the TV series and I can truly give you the story... with Paramount. I did the deal already with Paramount."
When asked what network the show is slated to air on, Gotti revealed that he hasn't settled on one just yet, but reassured fans that it will be Rated-R.
"We didn't go to a network yet, so I don't want to say," he continued. "But I have a couple favorites in mind. It's going to be a Rated-R network."
Murder Inc. Records is famous for birthing the careers of some of hip hop and R&B's most cherished figures including Charli Baltimore, Ja Rule and Ashanti. The label, which launched in 1999, reached its peak between mid 2001 and early 2003.
