Just when you thought this election season couldn’t get any more head-scratching, it just did.

Former Lt. Governor Betsy McCaughey was recently a guest on Don Lemon’s CNN program and had her own take on Donald Trump’s most recent outrageous comments about women. She used Beyonce (that’s right, QUEEN BEY) to make a point against Hillary Clinton in favor of the GOP presidential nominee.

“Hillary Clinton expresses that she finds the language on that bus horrific, but in fact she likes language like this, quote: ‘I came to slay b***h, when he eff me good I take his ass to Red Lobster,’ McCaughey said. "That happens to be a line from Beyoncé, her favorite performer, whom she idolizes and would like to imitate. So, you know what I’m saying to you?”

Um, well, first off, it’s unclear whether Beyonce is Hillary's favorite performer, or that she “idolizes” her. Second, lyrics are subjective and every presidential candidate in the modern era likes at least one artist that uses vulgar language in their music. Third of all, uh, no.

Sorry, this kind of got to us. Luckily the BS comparison to try and deflect attention off Donald Trump’s vileness didn't really sit well with the other hosts. Lemon in particular said in reply to McCaughey’s earlier comments that he doesn’t believe people like the use of those words, however Beyonce isn’t running for president.

Also, even though Beyonce does describe what she’s saying in more graphic terms she’s still talking about consensual sex. The Donald, not so much. Check out the WTF comments Betsy McCaughey made below.
