Chance the Rapper's 'Tonight Show' Performance Will Hit You in the Feels
Chance the Rapper was a featured guest on Jimmy Fallon’s The Tonight Show this week, and used the platform to raise the bar very, very high for future performers gracing the reputed late night show’s stage.
Recruiting the likes of Ty Dolla $ign, D.R.A.M., Anthony Hamilton and Raury, the Chicago emcee created a beautiful reworking of his song “Blessings,” capable of bringing even the most stoic to shed a tear.
“Blessings” appears on Chance’s Coloring Book mixtape, which was released earlier this year and straddles new ground between hip-hop and gospel. The mixtape was met with overwhelming support and further solidified Chance’s permanent place as one of this decade’s most promising recording artists.
The recreation of the track for The Tonight Show is stunning, and shows what magic can happen when one surrounds themselves with other talented and like-minded visionaries.
