Chris Brown Released on Bail, Accuser Wanted for Theft in NYC
It seems like Chris Brown’s latest saga is moving along pretty quickly. In under 48 hours, police have been called to his house under the accusation he brandished a gun during a disagreement, Brown was arrested after a standoff, taken downtown and is now out on bail.
NBC Los Angeles is reporting the singer put up the $250,000 bail and is scheduled for arraignment on September 20 at the Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center. His lawyer, Mark Geragos, issued a statement following his release.
“Thanks to everyone for their support and well wishes,” he relayed via Twitter. “Chris is out and well. The allegations against him are demonstrably false #TeamBreezy.”
While CB has a few weeks to prepare for his next legal battle, another interesting development occurred as his accuser, Baylee Curran, is wanted for questioning in New York in connection with criminal theft for allegedly stealing a designer purse from an upscale hotel.
TMZ is reporting that this story is very significant in proving Breezy’s innocence because apparently Curran claims a certain piece of jewelry that caught her eye is what triggered the events that led to her 911 call. The alleged incident happened back in 2013 when Curran and friends began arguing at the hotel. That’s when she snatched the $1,000 Louis Vuitton purse from one of the girls and ran out. Security then chased Baylee, who allegedly dropped the purse but still made off with its contents, including cash, credit cards and a Michael Kors wallet.
Police in Brown’s incident yesterday (August 30) didn’t comment on whether or not they seized a firearm from Brown’s home, however TMZ claims that both guns and drugs were found.
Chris Brown reacted to the allegations on Instagram before he was arrested. He denies any wrongdoing and says he’s the victim of what he believes to be just another attempt to dirty his name and character.
