Morgan Freeman Reacts To Accusations By Eight Women Of Sexual Harassment And Inappropriate Behavior
Morgan Freeman is the latest Hollywood power player to be exposed for allegedly sexually assaulting women in the industry.
However, unlike many of those who have been accused in the past, the Oscar winner has immediately responded to the reports in a statement.
According to People, Freeman has officially responded to the recent accusations made against him by eight different women. In his statement, he apologized for his actions, but never denied that their accounts were true.
"Anyone who knows me or has worked with me knows I am not someone who would intentionally offend or knowingly make anyone feel uneasy," the statement, released on Thursday, reads. "I apologize to anyone who felt uncomfortable or disrespected — that was never my intent."
As previously reported, the actor's allegedly inappropriate behavior took place on a slew of occasions, with a few being specified as an on-set occurrence with female members of the production staff of his film Now You See Me.
Since the allegations became public knowledge, Freeman's legions of fans have taken to Twitter to express their shock and hurt:
