Chris Brown's Attorney Claps Back at Karrueche Tran
Mark Geragos, Chris Brown’s longtime attorney, isn't going away quietly and decided to slam Karrueche Tran’s manager Jacob York's most recent assertions that he is attempting to set a smokescreen and dance around a domestic violence lawsuit.
“They can’t even serve CB with a lawsuit," Geragos tweeted on Wednesday (April 19). "Maybe they should ask their client to do it when she is following CB around the Country #teambreezy.”
That same day, Geragos claimed that Tran is only trying to promote herself, in a statement issued to Gossip Cop. York refutes this claim though, also implying that Geragos isn't serious about facing off in court.
“Mark should put up or shut up, but this sleight of hand he’s trying to do, to distract from his client’s current violent issues, is reprehensible,” he says. “This is real life and real issues, and not a topic that should be used by Mark to spin press. Let them have their day in court and let the chips fall where they fall.”
Chris Brown and Karrueche Tran had a rocky relationship until they ended things in 2015. In a sworn declaration made after their relationship came to an end, Tran said Brown “threatened to shoot me” and “take me out” if another man tried to get with her. She also claims things got violent physically, alleging Breezy punched her and pushed her down some steps. Tran has since sought a stay-away order and has planned on filing a restraining order.
The subsequent abuse hearing never took place, however. Karrueche has been unable to serve Chris with the original court order. Geragos has refused to accept on his client’s behalf, claiming he’s “not here to help anybody increase their profile for self-promotion.”
What a mess.
