Report: Here’s Why Janet Jackson Split From Her Third Husband
The reported reason behind Janet Jackson's split from her husband, Wissam Al Mana, comes down to one word: control.
The pop icon and the Qatari businessman decided to call it quits after five years of marriage, and shortly after welcoming their newborn son, Eissa Al Mana, allegedly because Al Mana was trying to take charge of too many aspects of Janet's life.
“She thought he had become too controlling during the pregnancy and she had already allowed him to dictate her appearance and even the way she performed at concerts,” a source who works closely with the couple tells Page Six. The constraints including wearing more conservative clothing and ditching the sexually suggestive dance moves. “It drove her crazy and she felt she was losing her fan base.”
Even if she could've lived with Al Mana's allegedly controlling ways, his treatment of her mother, who recently filed claims of elder abuse against other members of the family, was the final straw. “That’s when Janet made her decision that there was no turning back,” the source said. “She was worried about her mother — and Wissam showed little to no concern.”
If these leaks are any indication, this split might not be as amicable as it seemed at the start.
