Hear Iman Shumpert Lose It on 911 Call During Baby's Birth
Iman Shumpert became a father last week in a story that is nothing short of a Christmas miracle. His daughter, Iman Taylor Shumpert Jr., was born early in the morning on Wednesday at the home Shumpert shares with his fiancée, R&B singer Teyana Taylor, several weeks before expected and without the help of any medical professionals. Now, we have tape of the NBA player's 911 call, and we dare you not to shed a tear listening to it.
You can hear the operator walk the Cleveland Cavaliers guard through the delivery while the emotional parents-to-be waited for the ambulance to arrive. Shumpert fumbles through his words, at one point, trying to explain through his tears, “I have my daughter in my hands.”
No doubt baby girl is going to have an incredibly hands on father in Shumpert, who called it “an assist that I’m never going to forget.”
Thanks to her brave parents, Baby Iman (or "Junie," as they call her) is healthy and happy.
