The next act in T.I.’s album “trilogy” will be “unapologetically gangsta,’” the rapper said during an interview with Hip Hop Since 1987. Tip took a little time for album talk while promoting his new film, Get Hard, starring Kevin Hart and Will Ferrell.

Where the last project brought together the “sounds of yesteryear mixed with the hip hop of today,” this new one will kick it back to the “Rubberband Man” days. “It’s trap music, and it’s called Trap’s Open,” he said, without sharing any other details.

Pharrell Williams executive-produced T.I.'s 2014 release, Paperwork. It’s not clear if he’ll be involved in Trap’s Open.
