The Streaming Numbers For Kanye West's The Life Of Pablo Are Finally In
Tidal has the exclusive rights to stream Kanye West’s latest album The Life of Pablo and now, we finally know what that did for them.
According to Jay Z’s streaming service, the ever-changing project was streamed over 250 million times within the first 10 days after release. Subscriptions for Tidal also reportedly doubled during that time (some of which will only last through the free trial period).
In other news, Tidal will celebrate its 1-year anniversary tomorrow. To celebrate they’ve also shared the numbers they’re doing in total subscriptions as they reveal over 2.5 million in new subscriptions since March 30, 2015 (over 3 million in total). Surprisingly, Billboard is reporting that 1.35 million of those are users who opted for the service's hi-fidelity, lossless audio/video tier, costing $19.99 per month, opposed to the regular $9.99/month option.
Tidal still has an uphill battle to climb compared to their competitors. Spotify announced last week that their service has hit 30 million subscribers. Apple Music also recently rang in with 11 paid subscribers.
