New Kanye West and Jay-Z Album “Watch The Throne” Out Next Week?

Mr. West swears the highly anticipated album is just around the corner.

People say lots of wishful things on New Year’s Eve. For example: "I’m going to quit smoking," or "I’ll finally stop eating Ho Hos and shed those 10 lbs." Kanye West’s outburst at the Marquee in Las Vegas on Friday night, during which he claimed his new album with Jay-Z will be “coming in one week,” is likely just another one of those New Year’s resolutions that appears and then vanishes by the second week of January.

West and Jay-Z have been working on Watch The Throne for several months. "We're going to the south of France at the end of this month, just to record new ideas," West told NME. "We'll probably be done with the album in a day or whatever." That was back in October and we’ve been chomping at the bit ever since.

Given the enormous success of West's My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, an album with more leaks than a rusty faucet, it wouldn’t be shocking if the record popped up online before an official street date.

Check out the vid (above) of West making the announcement while (sort of) performing “Runaway.” Jay-Z’s ecstatic reaction to the news is the best part.

In the meantime, both Jay-Z and West are keeping plenty busy with other projects. Jay-Z just signed up-and-comer Cher Lloyd to his label, Roc Nation, and West recently filmed a new music video with Kim Kardashian for her debut album, produced by The-Dream.
