Trump Demands Congresswomen Apologize To Him After He Told Them To 'Go Back' To Their Countries
After facing massive criticism for posting a series of racist tweets reportedly aimed at four Democratic congresswomen of color, President Trump has taken his bigotry a step further by demanding the women apologize to him and the rest of the country.
Trump’s original tweets attacked Democratic Reps. Rashida Tlaib of Michigan, Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York and Ayanna Pressley of Massachusetts. Although all of the representatives are American citizens, Trump suggested they “go back and help fix the totally broken and crime-infested places from which they came.”
Although many people on both sides of the aisle condemned the tweets and called for Trump to apologize for the xenophobic and racist language, the president, instead, felt he was owed an apology from the congresswomen.

"When will the Radical Left Congresswomen apologize to our Country, the people of Israel and even to the Office of the President, for the foul language they have used, and the terrible things they have said. So many people are angry at them & their horrible & disgusting actions!" Trump tweeted on July 15.
Trump’s refusal to take back his comments appeared to be inspired by Monday morning’s episode of Fox and Friends in which South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham said, "AOC and this crowd" are a "bunch of Communists" who "hate Israel" and "hate our own country."
Trump tweeted direct quotes from Graham’s appearance on Fox to support his racist tweets.

On Sunday, all four of the congresswomen responded to the president’s first round of intolerant tweets. Ocasio-Cortez also fired back at Trump’s latest thread of tweets by saying this was "hallmark language of white supremacists."
"Trump feels comfortable leading the GOP into outright racism, and that should concern all Americans," she tweeted.
Of the four congressional representatives, only Rep. Omar, who was a Somali refugee and moved to the U.S. when she was 12, was born outside of the country. Omar became a naturalized citizen at age 17.
Omar faced criticism from Trump and other conservatives for remarks and tweets she made about Israel.
Though Omar apologized for her remarks and pledged to learn about why certain words can be found offensive when discussing Israel and Palestine, she is still at the center of many attacks from the president.
During an appearance on BET’s “Black Coffee,” Omar revealed she thinks it is “past time” for impeachment proceedings to begin on Trump.
