This Rumored Casting Call for Drake's 'Energy' Is Crazy
Drake is going big for his next video, “Energy,” if this rumored casting call that recently surfaced is true.
The Toronto rapper teased a small snippet of “Energy” over the weekend, which showed two kids standing in a field (one of them is holding a gun) and afterwards a shot of him and his crew. Directed by French duo Fleur & Manu, the Facebook post explains that the video will take place through three different vignettes of Drake’s life. One is Drake in an awkward family portrait. Another is Drake as Rob Ford (former Toronto mayor) who is in a parking garage with a drug dealer. And third is Drake as a model, where his face is imposed on someone else’s frame. With all the shirtless photos Drake has been posting lately on Instagram, it kind of makes sense that he would fantasize about being a runway star.
The ad asks for Rob Ford body doubles since you won’t be seeing his face. If this casting call is legit, then Mayor Drake Ford is a viral meme just waiting to happen. Since the shoot is supposedly over (it took place in April-May), we just have to wait until the actual video comes out to see if any of this is true. Whatever the case may be, the video for “Energy” is gonna be epic.
