Look: Donald Trump Get Defensive About Protesters as Electoral College Prepares to Cast Ballots

Here's what the president-elect tweeted and what we can expect to happen today.
  • on monday, December 19, the 538 members of the electoral college will meet to cast their ballots for president

    Electors are people chosen by their state political parties to cast votes for president and vice president. Electors can be state party leaders or elected officials or individuals with a personal connection to a presidential candidate.

    On Friday, Jan. 6 at 1 p.m., members of the House and Senate will meet in the House chamber to count the votes cast by the electors. 

  • The day before the vote, President-elect Donald Trump ranted on Twitter about the surge of people encouraging electors to cast a vote against him

  • Last week, several celebrities including Martin Sheen and Debra Messing recorded a service announcement urging electors to stand against Trump

  • However, only elector Christopher Suprun from Texas has confirmed that he will be voting against Trump
