Perhaps sensing that his NFL dreams could be delayed, former Ohio State quarterback Terrelle Pryor has postponed his Friday pro-day workout until his eligibility has been determined for the supplemental draft, according to an ESPN report.

Apparently there is major concern about whether the NFL will rule him eligible for the Aug. 17 supplemental draft because it’s not clear if his circumstances changed since the April NFL draft. Pryor, who is involved in an illegal gifts scandal at Ohio State, left school in June prior to the school declaring him permanently ineligible. He had been under a five-game suspension since December for exchanging memorabilia for tattoos.

Ohio State is under NCAA investigation and fired head coach Jim Tressel largely because of Pryor’s actions. But the school did not strip Pryor of his eligibility until last month.

Should Pryor not be declared eligible for next week’s supplemental draft, he will have to wait until 2012 to either be drafted into the NFL or signed as a free agent. And if he is declared eligible, it won’t give him much time to put together another workout for NFL teams to see him.

The only two athletes the NFL has declared eligible for the supplemental draft are Georgia running back Caleb King and Northern Illinois safety Tracy Wilson.

There has been concern about whether or not Pryor has the tools to make the transition from running college quarterback to pro-style passer, which is a must in the NFL. But according to several outlets, the Cleveland Browns, Washington Redskins and Dallas Cowboys were willing to make the trip to Pittsburgh on Friday to find out.
