A Day’s Worth of Greens in One Tablet? Believe It

Our editor test drives 8G Greens Superfoood Supplement.

As I sit down to type this, I have 10 tabs open on my Internet browser. Then there are the text messages, Instagram notifications, to-do lists and all the other things fighting for my attention. And I bet you can relate. So when I’m feeling particularly drained, I try to clean up my diet and incorporate some fresh vegetable juices into my routine. But it seriously can be hard to find the time to juice at home and prepackaged juices ain’t cheap at $6 or more a pop. So what’s a girl-on-the-go to do?

I had the opportunity to try a new greens supplement that offers a suitable solution for health enthusiasts short on time. 8G Greens Superfood Supplement comes as an effervescent tablet that you dissolve into a glass of water. It’s packed with eight energy-boosting power foods: kale and spinach, high in vitamin C; wheatgrass, for increased red blood cell production; blue green algae, for increased immunity; spirulina, an anti-inflammatory; chlorella and barley grass, for natural detoxification; and aloe vera, to accelerate healing. 8G is free of sugar, wheat, gluten, allergens, dairy and preservatives and has only nine calories per serving.

And consider this: each tablet contains as much vitamin C as five oranges, B6 as 12 cups of peas, zinc as 10 cups of asparagus and vitamin B3 as 27 cups of broccoli. So, basically, it’s all the goodness we know we should be eating, but don’t always get around to (#guilty). One tube of 10 tablets retails for a reasonable $12.50, sold exclusively at Nordstrom.

And, by the way, it actually tastes good, like a very faintly sweet green lemonade. It’s a great add-on to a healthy eating plan that includes fresh fruits and vegetables (yes, you still need to work those in, too). I love stashing a tube in my purse when I travel, and I’ll rely on its health-boosting benefits as we inch into cold and flu season for sure.
