Freddie Gibbs's Rape Case Just Took a Turn in His Favor
Things are looking up for Freddie Gibbs a little bit in the rape case against him.
He’s reportedly set to be released on a $55,000 bail in France while awaiting extradition from Austrian authorities in connection with the alleged rape that took place in Austria last year. According to his legal team, Gibbs is slated to be released either today (June 16) or tomorrow (June 17). He was arrested on June 2 in Toulouse, France.
"Freddie Gibbs adamantly denies the allegations that have been levied against by Austrian authorities," Gibbs’s lawyer, Scott Leemon, said. "It makes you wonder why it took almost a year for Austrian officials to bring these charges."
Leemon also says that Gibbs is required to turn in his passport and check in with authorities three times a week while he awaits the court's decision.
