Canadian Battle Rapper Pat Stay Fatally Stabbed
Canadian battle rapper Pat Stay has died after he was fatally stabbed in Nova Scotia, Canada on Sunday (Sept. 4). He was 36.
According to the Halifax Regional Police, the incident happened in downtown Halifax early Sunday morning where law enforcement says that Stay was discovered with stab wounds before transporting him to a nearby hospital.
Several rappers headed to their social media pages to offer up their condolences including fellow entertainer, Eminem.
“hiphop lost one of the best battlers of all time ... RIP @patstay .. KINGS NEVER DIE!,” Em wrote on Twitter.
A GoFundMe campaign has been created for Stay’s family to help with funeral expenses.
"He has been taken from the world far to soon and many will be devastated forever," a message from the campaign organizer reads. "Pat Stay was a very honorable man who was on his way to a bright future. Our heart hurts for his family and friends at this time so we hope to help ease some of the pain by ensuring his family has help through this process."
The case is being investigated as a homicide. No arrests have been made yet.
