Freddie Gibbs Charged With Sexual Assault
A new development has been made following Freddie Gibbs’s arrest earlier this summer.
According to reports, the 34-year-old rapper has officially been charged with sexual assault.
Gibbs was arrested back in June after being wanted on rape charges in Austria stemming from a 2015 altercation taking place backstage while the rapper was on tour overseas.
"He is alleged to have administered knock-out drops to a woman and then have abused her sexually while she was in a defenseless state," a spokesman in Austria shared in a statement.
He possibly could be looking at a maximum 10-year sentence in the country if he is found guilty of the charge against him.
"He strenuously denies (the accusations),” Gibbs’s lawyer, Theodore Simon, said in a statement. “While Freddie Gibbs was charged with an offense today, it remains only an allegation and it does not in any way change the actual facts that Freddie Gibbs is 100 percent innocent."
At this time, there isn't a court date set and the rapper continues to demonstrate his innocence in the matter.
