Kendrick Lamar Reveals Release Date For His Fifth Studio Album
The return the world has been waiting for. Kendrick Lamar’s label, pgLang, released a statement today via his website, oklama.com, which revealed not only the title of Lamar’s new album, but also shares a release date of when it is set to drop.
The album is called Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers and is scheduled to hit the streets on May 13th.
The last time the world saw the 14x Grammy Award-winning rapper was at the star-studded Super Bowl Halftime show, where we saw him share the stage with Mary J. Blige, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent, Anderson Paak, and Eminem where he performed “M.A.A.D. City” at the packed SoFi Stadium.
Fans have been anticipating the new album since his latest project DAMN. and after a five year hiatus, the world is ready to eat this project up.
Twitter has already shared their excitement after the surprise announcement, calling him a “genius” for how he let the world know he’s coming

Recently, pgLang artist Baby Keem won a Grammy this year for Best Rap Performance for his record “Family Ties,” which features Lamar off the former’s debut album The Melodic Blue.
BET.com previously reported that this will be the record producer’s final album under Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE).
"As I produce my final TDE album, I feel joy to have been a part of such a cultural imprint after 17 years,” the rapper wrote in a message on his website oklama.com.
“May the Most High continue to use Top Dawg as a vessel for candid creators. As I continue to pursue my life’s calling."
BET.com will share more details as this story develops.
