Tragic News: 15 Year Old Daughter of Team USA Sprinter Tyson Gay Shot and Killed
The teenage daughter of Olympic sprinter Tyson Gay is the latest victim of gun violence in America. Trinity Gay, 15, was shot at a Kentucky restaurant called Cook Out early Sunday morning, after she was caught in the crossfire after a shootout erupted between two strangers in nearby cars.
She died at a nearby hospital an hour later.
Lexington police say they responded to a call of shots fired at the restaurant on just before 4AM. Police say people in two cars exchanged gunfire, then drove away. Trinity was caught in the crossfire, and rushed to the hospital after taking a bullet to the neck. She was pronounced dead by 5AM.
Trinity, who was a rising track star at Lexington High School, is believed to be an innocent bystander and had nothing to do with the violent shooting. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends.
