Tory Lanez’s ‘Quarantine Radio’ Was Shut Down By Instagram And The Internet Is Screaming #FreeTory

“THEY DIDN’T WANT ME TO WIN D**N.”

In the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, Torontian rapper-singer Tory Lanez has come through for his fans with much-needed entertainment courtesy of his newly-minted Quarantine Radio Instagram livestreams.

  • In between twerk contests and other debauchery, Tory has gotten the likes of Drake, Chris Brown, Bryson Tiller, Megan Thee Stallion, Justin Bieber, Tinashe and more to bless his corner of the Internet with cameos. Unfortunately for those invested, it appears the Chixtape hip-hop artist’s infamous Quarantine Radio broadcast might have met the same fate as Baton Rouge rapper’s Boosie short-lived live streams.

  • On Tuesday (April 7), Tory revealed to his 7.5 million followers that he’s been placed under a social media timeout. He’s been temporarily blocked from using the Instagram Live feature until April 14 after violating the social platform’s community guidelines. “THEY DIDN’T WANT ME TO WIN D**N,” he vented in the caption. In another video post, Tory voiced his frustrations over his access being stripped via Instagram Stories. He revealed that he attempted to bypass the restriction by opening up a separate account for Quarantine Radio to go live from. But the powers that be caught on and quickly revoked that account’s streaming access too.

“This is crazy at this point. I had 350K live. Instagram cut me off. I made a whole brand new page n***as ain’t never heard of, The Quarantine Radio. I just got to a hundred thousand [viewers]. Instagram shut me off,” he said, dismayed. “At this point, I don’t know what the f**k is going on. I’m sorry.”

  • He later returned to the social platform to call on fans to help him get the ban lifted.

He posted a photo of himself rocking an orange jumpsuit in a mock prison cell from what appears to be a photoshoot. “EVERYBODY HASHTAG #FreeTory SO I CAN GET OUT OF HERE MAN!!!! lmao Instagram stop hating. We can be friends man!” he wrote in the caption.

  • The e-streets have been going wild over the disruption to Tory Lanez’s Quarantine Radio programming.

“Instagram need to understand Tory Lanez is an essential worker,” one user joked on Twitter, which Tory re-tweeted from his account.

“Tory Lanez IG live is an essential business,” a second pleaded.

“IG STOP HATING,” a third weighed in.
