Tyson Beckford's Nephew Charged With Manslaughter in Fatal NYC Crash
A fatal car crash in New York City involving a stolen vehicle and a city bus has been linked back to the nephew of Tyson Beckford. The New York Daily News reports that Domonic Whilby, 22, stole the truck that he later crashed into an MTA bus in downtown Manhattan, killing the driver.
Instagram photos showed Whilby partying with his uncle Beckford at a birthday party for supermodel Shanina Shaik hours before the accident. After reportedly struggling to get home after the party, Whilby allegedly stole a truck from a garage.
William Pena, a 17-year transit worker, died after being thrown from the bus, which collided into scaffolding and a building. Five other people, including Whilby, were injured in the accident.
Whilby was arrested and charged with vehicular manslaughter, grand larceny, criminal possession of stolen property and felony assault.
