Sanya Richards-Ross won't stop going for gold. The Olympic gold medalist nabbed the top spot in London last year and still holds the record for the women's 400 meter, has a new reality show on WeTV called Glam and Gold, and is currently gracing the cover of Women's Running magazine. In an interview with the Huffington Post, Richards-Ross talks about her first solo cover, goals, healthy habits and how she stays motivated through her training.

"I set intermediary goals. I always have long-term goals, like starting to train for the Olympics, but I log training and enjoy getting closer and closer to my ultimate goal. I like to say I have a bad memory — I quickly forget my successes and start to set new goals very quickly. I learned not to hold on to the good or the bad too long to keep pursuing the next goal."

Richards-Ross, who's already started thinking and training for the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, is currently recovering from toe surgery and has had to do other workouts like biking and swimming before getting back on the track. While lesser athletes might crumble under pressure and bumps on the road [she was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease in 2007 and pulled a quad muscle in 2010], she uses these moments to push herself harder. And when she does, Richards-Ross makes sure to sustain her ambitions with proper meals.

"I am crazy about breakfast, too! I never miss breakfast. If I do I am the most grumpy person in the world. I have peppermint green tea, egg whites or sometimes full eggs, then I have some fruit and either a bagel or pancakes for some carbs. If I don't have eggs, I'll have oatmeal. For lunch, I'll have a grilled chicken salad or tuna sandwich on wheat bread. Especially when I'm training, I'll supplement my meals with a protein shake. Then dinner is grilled salmon, a baked potato and vegetables. I'm a really boring eater. I don't try a lot of things. It's easy for me to stick to a healthy diet because I'm so picky."
