Exclusive: Social Media Star Savannah ‘VanVan’ Mcconneaughey Brings Motivational Vibes With Her New Song ‘Be You’
Regarding young social media stars, there is none like Savannah ‘VanVan’ Mcconneaughey. At just five years old, her “VanVan” dance movies and inspirational messages have garnered almost millions of views on TikTok and Instagram and made her a household name.
Guided by her loving parents, Reggie and Tikenjna, VanVan’s talents have no bounds as she continues to serve all her “Black Girl Magic” to every performance that has inspired the masses
“I feel supported, and I feel happy because my parents really worked hard to make me and this big creation,” VanVan told BET.
Tikenjna noted that it was important for the family to invest in VanVan’s talent as she grows into her greatness as a child star.
“I think for a long time our little Black girls couldn't be themselves. So this new generation of parents has started investing in the talent of our kids, making sure that they feel loved, and have a safe place,” Tikenjna said. “So we're excited that we can do that for our daughters”
“Our parents didn't have the same avenues that we have as parents. It was very old school, I know this because my parents are almost in their 70s. But seeing something in your child and expounding on that gift, is very important. I think we've done a great job of investing in her gift that we've seen in her very early,” Reggie added.
For her latest venture, VanVan teamed up with Heiress Harris, the daughter of T.I. and Tiny Harris, for a new inspirational song titled “Be You.” Over a smoking hot track, VanVan and Heiress spread their message of love and motivation that is intended to uplift anyone who is struggling with being themselves. VanVan shared what her experience was like as she made the song.
“It was so much fun to make the song. We went on the stage. We went everywhere and it was so much fun,” she recalled. “I got to a school to do the video in Atlanta and I got to meet Heiress.”
On this bop, these two young prodigies are giving life as they boldly express themselves and show the world the beauty and creativity of Black girls. According to VanVan, being authentic is essential to success in any endeavor.
“It's important that you should be you all the time,” VanVan said. “You should always be you because that's how you work through your life. Because if you can be you, be you, it’s really fun.
