Gucci Mane's Friends Say He's Getting Out of Prison Early
7/11 is the name of a national chain of convenience stores, a party jam by Beyoncé, and now may be the date Gucci Mane gets out of prison. Reports from two of GuWop's pals, Mike WiLL Made It and Atlanta DJ Lil Bankhead claim that the rapper will be sprung next month, nearly one year early.
The rumor started with a Reddit user, who wrote on Sunday, "I work for a few record companies in Atlanta and some people from his camp are my good friends. He is being released on July 11th." Bankhead spread the news on Instagram, posting, "JULY 11 MY HOMIE BACK IN THE STREETS SALUTE," alongside a photo of Gucci.
This morning, Mike WiLL added more credence to the rumor by tweeting, "#FREEGUCCI big dog coming home!!!"
Neither Gucci's camp nor the man himself have addressed the news, and officially Gucci's release date is still listed as March 6, 2017. The rapper was sentenced to three years in prison on charges of possession of a firearm and assault last October, which included 11 months already served. Even behind bars, La Flare remained as productive as ever, releasing new music, announcing collaborations and even getting ready to drop a brand new mixtape on July 1.
Hopefully we'll get some official confirmation on this from Gucci's people soon.
