Virginia McLaurin has seen a lot in her 106 years.

She lived through the roaring '20s, the Great Depression, Jim Crow and the civil rights movement. This South Carolina native has lived through 18 presidents but none compared to seeing the first Black president in the flesh.

She recently got the chance to visit the White House and when she caught sight of President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama, she could hardly contain her excitement.
"Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeey!" McLaurin yelled, like a grandma seeing her grandchild for the first time since they entered college. She swung her cane in the air and quickly two-stepped over to the first lady. That's when the dance party jumped off.
"What's the secret to still dancing at 106?" asked the president.

"Just keep moving," McLaurin replied, busting moves that made her an Internet sensation.
McLaurin said she considers it an honor to visit the White House and to meet the first family.  Her visit was part of the administration's Black History Month events held throughout the month of February. She created a special YouTube plea and petition to meet the commander in chief. Thankfully, her efforts were not in vain, and her White House wish was granted.
The Washington, D.C., resident gets lots of practice winning over younger admirers. She stays busy volunteering as a foster grandparent at a local public school during the week.
Before McLaurin's visit with the Obama's was over, the first lady told her, "I wanna be like you when I grow up."
McLaurin smiled and said, "You can."
