Casting News: New Roles for Zoe Kravitz, Yaya Alafia
Zoe Kravitz is proving to be one of the most daring young stars in Hollywood, consistently opting for interesting roles in edgy films. The actress will next star in the Bonnie & Clyde-inspired indie drama Vincent & Roxxy. The film follows a young Chicago woman, Roxxy, who's on the run when she meets and is assisted by fellow runaway Vincent (Emile Hirsch). Romance and a crime spree ensue.
Kravitz had a role in young adult franchise Divergent earlier this year and recently wrapped production on Rick Famuyiwa's drama Dope.
Yaya Alafia is also steadily building her resume with roles in high-profile films. The Butler star has signed on to star opposite Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe in 1970s-set crime drama The Good Guys. No word yet on what kind of role Alafia will play. The former America's Next Top Model finalist recently wrapped production on Whitney, in which she plays Whitney Houston for director Angela Bassett in the made-for-television pic.
