Cee Lo Green Cut From the BayFest Music Festival
Things continue to decline for Cee Lo Green. The singer was axed from a third music festival lineup in less than a week because of his controversial rape tweets.
"In light of the recent comments attributed to Cee Lo Green that are contrary to the beliefs and conscience of BayFest Music Festival, Mr. Green's performance at the 2014 BayFest Music Festival on Oct. 4 has been canceled," officials announced via statement Tuesday (Sept. 9).
Green was already in hot water with fans and rape activists when he pleaded no contest to 2012 rape charges, in which he allegedly slipped a woman ecstasy. He was given three-year’s probation and 45 days of community service — with no sex charges filed against him, but he took it upon himself to take to Twitter on Aug. 31 to define rape, setting off a windfall of backlash.
The Alabama BayFest cancellation follows a string of losses for the rapper/singer. He was also dropped from the bills of the JBAB Freedom Live show and 2014 Gretna Heritage Festival on Monday (Sept. 8).
