CC Sabathia Admits He Let Haters Get Under His Skin in Toronto
Another day removed from that ugly Toronto street brawl and CC Sabathia is admitting he let his temper get the best of him.
The New York Yankees pitcher told TMZ Sports that he let haters get under his skin in trying to get in the mix of what turned into a wild street brawl outside of EFS nightclub early Saturday morning. The Yankees had just taken the first game of a three-game weekend series with the Blue Jays.
Sabathia had to be held back by a friend and pushed into a car...which was probably a good thing for those fighting, considering the Yankees pitcher stands six foot, seven inches and nearly 300 pounds. But overall, Sabathia thinks he made a bad decision trying to fight.
"They caught me at a bad time," Sabathia said of hecklers who he said got personal with him. "It was literally 25 seconds of me and then I was gone."
When it was all said and done, Sabathia says explaining it to his child was harder than explaining it to the Yankees.
"That's the toughest part: 'Dad had a bad night,'" Sabathia said. "'Made a bad decision. Sometimes these things happen.'"
