Jesse Williams Opens Up in His First TV Interview Since Epic BET Awards Speech
Jesse Williams made a stop at the Ellen Show to chat with the talk show host about everything from his moving BET Awards speech to his new line of emojis. It was their hilarious back and forth about who's closer to Justin Timberlake that was the highlight of the interview, though.
Ellen started things off praising the Grey's Anatomy star's speech before showing the audience a clip.
"Thank you, I appreciate it," he said, before they got into a one-up match about whose friendship with pop star Justin Timberlake is more legit.
On top of being hilarious and woke, the actor/activist is also hip to the emoji game, having just released his own line of emojis.
"We are borth in the communication business," he told Ellen. "[They're called] E-Broji... E-Broji is mostly a GIF keyboard app, mostly GIFs, but now we're in the sticker game... Language is constantly evolving. Who would've thought that we'd go back to pictographs and holographs, basically?"
Williams couldn't let the interview end without one last dig, letting Ellen know his best bud JT is a fan of his emojis.
"He loves E-Broji. Big fan," he joked. "He didn't mention Exploji [Ellen's app]."
