Man Sued by Tyler Perry Seeks Dismissal
Last year, Tyler Perry filed a protective order lawsuit against a former studio employee, Joshua Sole, who he believed to be stalking him. Now, Sole is fighting back against the claims and is counter suing the media mogul for harassment. He's also asking a judge to dismiss Perry's case.
Sole allegedly broke into Perry's Atlanta-based studio, disabled security alarms and locked himself inside of Perry's studio office. He reportedly wanted to "talk" to the director. According to reports, it took police four hours to get Sole out of Perry's office. Sole was arrested and charged for criminal trespassing.
Perry sued Sole for damages, harassment and legal fees amounting to $125,000. The director also suggested that Sole seek psychiatric help.
Sole tells a different version of the story, claiming that Perry's lawsuit was "dishonorable" and is requesting that it be thrown out of court. Also, Sole didn't agree that his actions against Perry were damaging enough to incur the fines stemming from the lawsuit, although it isn't clear what "actions" Sole is admitting to. He is also counter suing for $100,000, claiming Perry's lawsuit is unnecessary and a financial burden.
Sole does, however, admit he tried to communicate with Perry, though he wouldn't say for what purpose. Given Perry's winning streak when it comes to lawsuits, we hope Sole has an excellent lawyer.
