Shoe Icon Christian Louboutin Shares Some Interesting Thoughts About Rap Music And Cardi B
“Bodak Yellow” propelled Cardi B to the top of the billboard charts, but now the song has her on the radar of one of the biggest names in fashion. Luxury shoe designer, Christian Louboutin, caught wind of Cardi’s appreciation for his trademark ‘red bottoms’ and has a lot to say about it.
During a chat with the New York Times, Louboutin revealed that while he isn’t a big fan of rap music, he knows a thing or two about the former Love & Hip Hop star. “She has hair like that,” he said, making the motion of a chin level bob often sported by the rapper. “She’s a rapper/ this ‘Yellow’ song,” he added.
Although he isn’t too familiar with Cardi B and rap music, Louboutin does admit that it makes him feel a little nostalgic. “In a way, it comes back to some of my origins...The first shoes I ever designed were for showgirls, people on stage. Showgirls have a kind of attitude — they’re driving forces.”
Christian Louboutin’s comments comes days after Cardi B made history as the first solo rapper since Lauryn Hill in 1998 to land at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 charts.
