Tyrone Hankerson Is Suing Howard For $10 Million, Sparking A New Wave Of Petty Memes

The student says the school leaked his financial records and turned his life "completely upside down."

The student who became the face of the Howard University financial aid scandal plans to sue the university $10 million for leaking his financial records and ruining his life, sparking a whole new generation of hilarious and perfectly petty memes.

Tyrone Hankerson Jr.’s lawyer, James Walker, told news outlet WAMU that he’s drafted a lawsuit that is expected to be filed in D.C. Superior court by Friday.

Hankerson’s potential lawsuit comes as a shock considering he was accused in an anonymous Medium blog of stealing $429,000 from funds earmarked for financial aid for low-income students.

Hankerson has denied any wrongdoing by saying he did “nothing illegal or wrong."

“When the truth comes out, it will be confirmed that I followed all rules and protocol with the approval of the, then, financial aid officers in any grants, scholarships or awards given to me as a student who attended class all year round and traveled abroad,” he said in a statement.
