Single Ladies Renewed for Third Season

The dramedy scored bigger ratings its sophomore season.

The audiences have spoken: Atlanta girls really do know how to have fun.

Deadline is reporting that VH1 has renewed their scripted hit dramedy series Single Ladies for a third season.

It was an easy call to make for the network, since season two of the series averaged 3.2 million viewers for premiere episodes — which is up 10 percent from season one.

Like other series before it, Single Ladies, executive produced by Queen Latifah, has successfully forged ahead despite losing one of its stars its freshman season. Internet rumblings debated if the show would find its footing after the season one departure of former series star Stacey Dash. But it’s apparent the Atlanta-based show’s continued smart, fun and sexy look at women’s varied approach to relationships in the world of music, fashion and celebrity still reels viewers in.

For those who need a quick recap, the wrap of season two finds Keisha (LisaRaye McCoy) having to choose between a former flame and on-again off-again love. Raquel (Denise Vasi) is in a burgeoning love triangle between a childhood love and current flame. April (Charity Shea) thinks she’s found Mr. Right, until his family drops a bomb.

Season two guest stars included Paula Patton, T.I., La La Anthony, Romeo, Lauren London, Pilar Sanders, Tank, Tony Rock and Queen Latifah.

The third season of Single Ladies kicks off in 2013.
