Is Colin Kaepernick Telling Us How He Really Feels With This Tupac T-Shirt?
Colin Kaepernick has remained relatively silent in the midst of President Trump calling any NFL player protesting the national anthem a "son of a b***h" and many players responding by locking arms and kneeling during the anthem Sunday.
The free-agent quarterback, who remains jobless due to his 2016 season-long kneeling during the anthem, did flash a smile that said it all when asked about Trump's "SOB" comment earlier in the week, but declined to comment.
That being said, Kaep might have told us how he really feels about the whole situation with a T-shirt that he rocked earlier this week in New York City. TMZ Sports spotted Kaepernick wearing this Tupac "Me Against The World" T-shirt.
As woke as the QB is, he might have rocked it as a statement to what he thinks about Trump's comment and NFL players reacting to it and how it took away from the original issues of racism and police brutality against unarmed Black men that he was trying to combat with his stance last year.
After all, revisiting Pac's lyrics to the title track off his 1995 album says it all.
"When will I finally get to rest through this oppression? They punish the people that's askin' questions," are part of the lyrics.
In addition, there's the line: "Dreamin' of riches, in a position of makin' a difference. Politicians are hypocrites, they don't wanna listen."
Both can be applied to this Trump vs. NFL players situation.
Do you think Kaep rocked this T-shirt to send a message?
Yesterday, during an interview with Fox & Friends, Trump did mention Kaepernick by name.
"The NFL cannot disrespect our country," Trump said. "They cannot disrespect our flag or our national anthem, and they can't have people sitting down or kneeling down during our national anthem. And I saw this a year ago with Kaepernick and I said, 'This is a terrible thing.' I thought it was terrible and then it builds up a little bit and a little bit more, and you see what's been happening and all of a sudden, you see more and more and more [protesting NFL players]."
