Lloyd Banks Charged With Assault and Robbery
Lloyd Banks (born Christopher Lloyd) is reportedly in police custody in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada on assault and robbery charges.
Police say G-Unit’s Boy Wonder and three of his associates assaulted the promoter of Club NV in Brantford, Ontario after they performed at the venue this past Friday (Jan. 8).
Sergeant Brad Finucan of Waterloo Regional Police’s Criminal Investigations division confirmed to MTV NEWS that the MC and his crew got into a money dispute over Banks’ performance and an appearance fee. Cops didn’t release the promoter’s name.
Per the promoter, Banks and his three friends, Nicklas Sloane, Shawn McGee and Tyrell Cooper, held him hostage in his hotel room, assaulted him and robbed him. Banks and company were charged with forceful confinement, aggravated assault and robbery. They made a video appearance yesterday (Jan. 10) and are scheduled to appear in court earlier this week. They were still being held by police at press time.
