DDG Arrested On Felony Gun Charge in California
YouTube star DDG, 24, was arrested in Los Angeles on Monday after being pulled over for reckless driving. According to TMZ, the rapper was riding in a Lamborghini, and when LAPD searched the vehicle, they found a gun which led to his arrest for felony possession of a concealed weapon.
Born Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr., DDG has reportedly been released on a $35,000 bond and, per HotNewHipHop, has a court appearance on June 28th.
DDG recently went viral for singing Sam Cooke's "A Change is Gonna Come" with his girlfriend, Halle Bailey. The TikTok video featured the two singing the classic song with Grandberry eliciting an excited "Wooh!," from Bailey, who applauded him. Smiling at his accomplishment, he asked, "That was good, wasn't it?" to which Bailey replied, "That was good," with a large smile.
DDG is best known for his hit single, "Moonwalking in Calabasas," and recently teamed up with Blueface for the song, "Meat This."
A native of Pontiac, Michigan, DDG was a former YouTube star-turned-rapper who released his debut album, Valedictorian, in Nov. of 2019.
He dropped another project last March called Die 4 Respect, which was hosted by producer OG Parker. The project featured guest appearances from YoungBoy Never Broke Again, Lil Yachty, 42 Dugg, PnB Rock, Coi Leray, Blueface, and others.
