Faith Evans Reveals Why Things Didn't Work Out Between Her and Stevie J
Rumors began swirling last year that Faith Evans and Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta star Stevie J were quietly pursuing a romantic relationship after he broke things off Joseline Hernandez.
Since then, both parties have hinted at the lowkey romance here and there, but not until now has either of them gone into more detail.
In an interview on Angela Yee's Lip Service, the singer spilled the tea on their relationship, detailing how she got out of the friend zone with the reality star, what made her take him seriously, what it was like dating him after Joseline and more.
"I did date him but there was a long period of time I couldn't fathom that thought," she said. "I never had that thought. Even when he tried to really holla at me, it took months of him convincing me that he was trying to be different."
The Notorious B.I.G.'s lady said it wasn't until Stevie said those infamous three words that she considered giving him a chance.
"I've been married most of my adult life. I never really dated until the last four years," she said. "It was weird for me but he said 'he loved me' and said 'I been there for him.' He said everything that was true, but it did not mean we should be together. I know many reasons we shouldn't be together. He even convinced my friends that we should be together."
As far as dating him after the self-proclaimed Puerto Rican princess, she said it was nothing short of a "challenge."
"He tried to talk to me fresh off dating [Joseline] and he has told me about every relationship he has been in," she said. "It was definitely a challenge for me to consider it."
Most notably, when asked if she still has romantic feelings towards Stevie J, she said, "I will always have love for Stevie, even though he is not ready for me."
