Sweet Video Of Michelle Obama And Oprah Surprising Teen Girls Will Have You Grabbing Tissues
When Oprah and Michelle Obama sat down for a SuperSoul Conversation at the Hearst New York offices, a group of high school girls thought they would have a first look at the taped conversation. Little did they know, they were actually the ones on camera and the person watching was none other than the former first lady.
According to Oprahmag.com’s digital director, Arianna Davis, 30 high school girls from three non-profit organizations in New York—Harlem Children’s Zone, Uncommon School Group and GrassROOTS SuperGirls Society—came to the officers for what they thought would be a discussion on the midterm election video.
The girls were asked to give feedback about an interview that Oprah and Mrs. Obama previously had; all the while, their conversation was being live-streamed to a room downstairs where Oprah and the former first lady were watching.
After the conversation, one teen was standing and explaining how she related to Mrs. Obama’s upbringing. In that very moment, Mrs. Obama herself quietly walked up behind her.
Almost immediately, the room full of Black and brown girls erupted with tears and absolute joy to see Mrs. Obama.
Once the girls caught their breath, a quick Q&A with Mrs. Obama and the girls took place. There's no doubt Obama's presence and compassion exhibited toward the girls will leave an impression that lasts longer than any social media post.
